Advocacy Program for Women in Mining and Communities – South Sudan

The Program is Now LIVE!

In a bold step toward transforming the mining sector, the National Women Empowerment and Rehabilitation Organization (NWERO) and Women in Mining Africa (WiM-Africa) have joined forces to launch a groundbreaking Advocacy Program in South Sudan. Our mission is clear: to remove children from hazardous mining conditions and empower women miners through sustainable, community-driven initiatives.

Why This Program Matters

1

Empowering Women Miners:

Women in mining face significant challenges—from financial barriers and unsafe working conditions to limited leadership opportunities. By providing mentorship, skills training, and financial access, we are equipping women to become leaders and change-makers in their communities.

2

Child Protection

Every child deserves a safe environment and quality education. Too many children are trapped in dangerous mining conditions, risking their futures. Our program is dedicated to rescuing these vulnerable children and reintegrating them into the classroom.

3

Collaborative Change:

Lasting change is possible only when community leaders, government officials, NGOs, and industry stakeholders come together.

Through robust stakeholder engagement and policy advocacy, our program strives to foster a sustainable and inclusive mining sector.
