WiM-Africa envisions a mining industry where women are fully included, empowered, and recognized as key contributors to economic growth, policy development, and responsible resource management.
We aspire to create a future where women across all levels of the mining value chain—from artisanal miners to executives—have equal access to opportunities, resources, and leadership roles, contributing to a prosperous, inclusive, and globally competitive African mining industry.

• NextGen: Inspiring and mentoring the next generation of female mining professionals, students, and young leaders in the sector.
• Project M-Safe: Advocating for and implementing safety standards to protect women in mining from hazardous working conditions.
• Voices of Children from the Pits (VoC): Addressing child labor in mining communities and advocating for the rights and education of children exposed to mining environments.
• Responsible Mining: Promoting ethical and sustainable mining practices that benefit local communities, protect the environment, and ensure equitable resource management.
• Loans Readiness Program: Providing women miners and mining entrepreneurs with the necessary skills, documentation, and financial education to access funding and grow their businesses.
• Leadership & Policy Advocacy: Strengthening women’s participation in mining policy formulation, leadership, and governance across Africa.
• Silent 15 of Bilalikoto: An annual day of remembrance for lives lost in unsafe mining operations, pushing for stronger safety regulations and accountability in the sector.
